Upcoming road closures in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, Texas – Navigating Fort Worth’s highways and interstates is challenging enough, but with ongoing road construction, the situation often turns chaotic.
In North Texas, road maintenance is a regular occurrence to ensure the roads remain in excellent condition for the countless motorists who use them.
Should you be heading to DFW Airport in the near future, it’s important to be aware of construction activities on I-820 and SH 121 leading to partial closures and lane restrictions. The Texas Department of Transportation has provided the following closure details:
I-820 NORTHBOUND EXIT TO TRINITY BOULEVARD
Closure dates: Sept. 10-Oct. 27
Time: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour: Exit to Glenview Drive/Pipeline Road, cross under I-820 and return on I-820 southbound main lanes to exit Trinity Boulevard.
I-820 SOUTHBOUND EXIT TO TRINITY BOULEVARD
Closure dates: Daily — Oct. 25-26, Nightly — Sept. 10-Oct. 27
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour: Exit Randol Mill Road, cross over I-820 and return on main lanes to Trinity Boulevard exit.
I-820 SOUTHBOUND ENTRANCE FROM TRINITY BOULEVARD
Closure dates: Sept. 10-Oct. 27
Time: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour: I-820 northbound main lanes to exit Glenview Drive/Pipeline Road, cross under I-820 and access southbound main lanes.
TEXAS 121 NORTHBOUND MAIN LANES
Closure dates: Oct. 22-28
Time: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work: Northbound main lanes will be reduced to one lane between Handley-Ederville Road.
TEXAS 121 SOUTHBOUND EXIT TO HANDLEY-EDERVILLE RD
Closure dates: Oct. 17-28
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Detour: Traffic to detour to next exit at Minnis Drive, cross under SH 121 and return on northbound main lanes to exit on Handley-Ederville Road.
TRINITY BOULEVARD
Closure dates: Oct. 25-27
Time: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work: Westbound Trinity Boulevard cross I-820 will be reduced to one lane.
