Fort Worth residents invited to join 41st annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup this March

Fort Worth, Texas – Registration is now open for one of Fort Worth’s largest and most visible community efforts to fight litter and improve public spaces. The 41st Annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, bringing together thousands of residents for a shared mission of caring for the city they call home.

Organized by Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, the event invites people of all ages and backgrounds to take part. City leaders say the cleanup is about more than picking up trash — it is about pride, connection, and long-term care for neighborhoods across Fort Worth.

A citywide cleanup open to everyone

The Cowtown Great American Cleanup is designed to be inclusive and flexible. Individuals, families, neighbors, schools, churches, and businesses are all encouraged to participate. Volunteers can choose to clean up almost any public space, including neighborhood streets, parks, school campuses, or other shared areas. For those who prefer a guided experience, preselected hub locations are available across the city.

Early registration comes with added perks. The first 3,000 people to sign up will receive a free event T-shirt, and all registered volunteers will be provided with free litter cleanup supplies, making it easy for anyone to join in.

Organizers say the goal is to make participation meaningful, whether someone spends the morning cleaning a single block or works with a large group at a major site.

Scrap tire collection offered at City Hall

As part of the cleanup effort, the City of Fort Worth is also hosting a free scrap tire collection event on the same day. Residents do not need to be cleanup volunteers to take advantage of this service.

The scrap tire drop-off will be held at Fort Worth City Hall, located at 100 Fort Worth Trail, using the Forest Park Boulevard entrance to the back parking lot. The collection will run from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 28.

Officials say the goal is to reduce illegal dumping, lower landfill waste, and prevent fire hazards caused by abandoned tires. There is no limit on the number of tires residents can bring.

Accepted items include tires from passenger vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, and SUVs, along with rubber tires from small equipment like bicycles, scooters, dollies, and lawnmowers. Rims are also accepted and should be separated from tires when possible. All items should be free of dirt, water, oil, and paint. Tires from commercial vehicles or 18-wheelers will not be accepted.

Celebration follows cleanup efforts

After the morning cleanup wraps up, volunteers are invited to keep the energy going at Earth Party, a citywide celebration held as a thank-you for participants. The event will feature food, games, activities, and the popular Trashion Fashion Show.

The Trashion Fashion Show invites designers of all ages to create outfits made from at least 50 percent trash or recyclable materials. Contest submissions are due by Wednesday, March 25, and full details are available online.

Whether residents spend the day cleaning up litter, dropping off old tires, or cheering on creative designs, organizers say the Cowtown Great American Cleanup offers an easy and rewarding way to be part of the solution. Registration is now open, and community leaders are urging residents not to miss the chance to help shape a cleaner, safer Fort Worth.
